I recently won a Navman S30 (account of the win here).

With the change to daylight savings time occurring a month earlier than before, this model which has been on the market for less than 12 months! is unable to recognise the change.

Other brands, such as Tom Tom, can be changed manually. But the Navman is too clever by half. Because GPS units read the exact time in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), nowadays known as UTC (universal co-ordinated time, in the French order), Navman works out what time zone you're in and sets it accordingly. Except for Daylight Savings.

Before winning my free Navman, I was going to purchase a Tom Tom as the 720 model was highly recommended by Choice magazine. While beggars can't be choosers, my big bro bought his S50 for real money. Hey everyone, go buy a Tom Tom!

Here's the response I received today from Navman:

As the spreadsheet in the device itself for the time changes are preloaded. They are set to change towards the end of this month. Therefore it will change itself shortly.

 

However please check for any updates to load that may be released to fix the times through the Navman website.
