I took this photo 11 years ago. It portrays a pair of (then) fairly new NR class locomotives (111+103) running on the North Coast line between Kendall and Johns River with a freight train from Brisbane to Sydneyat 12:45 in the afternoon. Since then the NRs have been taken over from National Rail Corp to Pacific National, many have been repainted, and those that remain in this 'marigold and grey' livery have lost their NR logos from the front and sides. Trains are longer and the line is busier. Trucks still hold the lion's share of traffic between Brisbane and Sydney but rail is blossoming under the growing transport task. Click the photo to do fancy things with it.
