Hmmmm. If Lithgow Anglican Church were to have an eldership, Peter Avery would definitely be one of them. He handles the Word of Truth admirably, and his life and godliness match the requirements of Scripture.

As a man committed to God's Word, Peter is also the convener of our "Workshop", the church library.

As we were chatting about it the other day, in preparation for the AGM, Peter asked about sermon statistics. His question was directly how much downloading of the sermons online was being done and how many orders Gary, our verger, received for copies of the sermons.

I said I didn't know but offered that when I last looked, his sermons were popular, and we joked about his friends and family downloading his sermons in order to improve his stats. Interestingly, since last looking, John Young has come in strongly and is leading the league table. All in good fun, of course!
