My daddy is still sick from his trip to hospital in October, but the lawn needed to be mowed and my mummy didn't know how to start the mower.

So daddy started it and mowed the back yard, the bit where Jensen our dog lives, which is the bit the church never mows. It's only little but the grass was up to daddy's knees.

Daddy was so sick after that, so mummy took over to mow near the clothes line and near my play equipment. Daddy got the church's ride on and drove it around, so mummy didn't have to mow too much.

Before mowing,  at 5pm, mummy gave me some medicine because I have a little cold. She gave me some Children's Panadol and some Dimetapp. While they were mowing, I got bored so I went to the fridge and got out the medicine and played medicines. The bottles had those funny lids that mummy has to ask daddy for help to open. But I am such a clever little girl that I opened it all by myself.

I don't remember how much--if any--of the stuff I had. But when daddy had parked the church's mower in the shed and came in at 5:30 he found me with the medicines and the lids off. So he took them off me (he is so boring at times, ruining my fun!). He then rang the poisons information centre and he had to guess how much I'd drunk because I didn't want to say. I wasn't in trouble or anything--daddy was actually very worried--but I am 2 yrs and 10 months and I just didn't want to tell him because, well, that's what kids my age are like, ok?

Anyways, Poisons Info told us to go to Shellharbour Public Hospital with the bottles of medicine, just as a precaution. So we did. We got there at 6:05pm and by 6:10pm I was in the special kiddie' ward in emergency. This is our second visit there; once before I also got to see the doctor straight away.(My daddy just reminded me that it's our third visit... the first time I got better in the waiting room. But I reminded him it's only the second time there was something potentially really bad that warranted me to go straight in. He replied back that symptoms of meningoccocal disease was serious. We just have to disagree on that one.)

So they looked me over and by 7:00pm decided that there was not any real likelihood that I had a toxic dose of anything. Certainly the maximum amount of panadol I could have taken (based on what was left in the bottle) was below any toxis dose--and mummy and daddy could remember taking out most of it for dosages anyway. The worrying one for the doctors was the dimetapp, because they had to assume that since 150ml was missing from the bottle, that I could have taken as much as 150ml. Even though mummy assured the doctors that the bottle had been nearly empty anyway, they had to assume the worst. Mummy and daddy understood that. So they had to wait until 9:30pm to see if I went mental or catatonic (based, respectively, on the effects of pseudoephidrene or antihistamine.

So by 9:30 I was being a pain in the neck, overtired, so the doctor cleared me to go home so all the really sick people could get some rest. I wrote this and then got tucked up in bed. All is ok!
